This sensor measures micro-variations in the plant stem diameter for horticulture or other applications.
When attached to the stem of a plant, this sensor:
Measures changes to the plant's stem diameter with μm precision.
Detects plant behavior in response to growth factors.
Optimizes ventilation, light screening, and irrigation.
Attach the diameter sensor to the top and the base of the plant to determine factors related to growth. Use this data alongside other indicators to optimize growing conditions.

Using Aranet Stem diameter sensors and a climate computer optimizes water irrigation, ventilation, and light screening:
The Stem diameter sensor network measures the stem size.
The base station collects the measured data.
Access data from the base station locally or from the Aranet cloud.
Evaluate the diameter size data and let the climate computer adjust irrigation, ventilation, and light conditions.
Continue rotating the adjusting nut until the rod reaches the desired position. If the stem is expected to grow, position the rod near the beginning of its stroke. If it is expected to shrink, position it near the end. Otherwise, place it somewhere in the middle.
For more details on the pairing process, consult the Aranet product TDSCT1*2 data sheet. After pairing 4–20 mA transmitters with a 12 VDC PSU included in this kit, configure the conversion from analog 4–20 mA to stem diameter values. Open the sensor settings menu in the Aranet base station’s web interface, update its name, and enable the conversion feature. Select Diameter as a Metric and mm or in as a unit, and define the minimum and maximum measurement values as detailed below.
