# Operational Range and Radio Frequencies

The **Aranet Gateway Pro** uses license-free frequencies in the **ISM** radio band.

Frequency allocation depends on your region. Aranet has two versions: **EU868** and **US920**.

### Operational range

The system can operate up to **3 km (1.9 mi)** in **line-of-sight (LoS)** conditions.

LoS means no visible obstacles between the Gateway and the sensor. Examples include an open field or a large hall.
