Backup
The Base Station provides the ability to create and use a configuration backup file, which is intended to simplify system recovery, configuration reuse, and base station replacement.
A backup file contains the base station configuration data, including network settings, paired sensor information, toggle sensor parameters, threshold values, integration configuration, user-defined settings, and other operational parameters. The backup does not include historical measurement data stored in Aranet Cloud.
WebGUI
In the WebGUI, a user can download the current configuration directly from the device.
Head to SYSTEM -> BACKUP
There you will get three options, that are: Export, Import, and Upload the backup file.
To perform a backup, just click the “EXPORT BACKUP” button, and a file will automatically be downloaded. It enables quick cloning of settings and sensors of the current Aranet PRO/PRO Plus for either duplication reasons or if a full factory reset is necessary, which can also be performed in this menu.
To upload a backup file, click on “IMPORT BACKUP” and locate a backup file. Once that is done, click the upload icon next to it. You will be asked for the administrator’s password: type it in and click “OK”.
To upload a backup file to Aranet Cloud manually, click on “UPLOAD BACKUP”.
A backup file can be used to restore a base station after a factory reset. After resetting the device, the backup file can be uploaded through the WebGUI, allowing the base station to return to its previous configuration without the need to manually reconfigure settings.
It is important to remember that the gathered data will not be saved in the backup file, it needs to be exported in case you wish to save it.
Aranet PRO/PRO Plus Name and Network settings are saved in the backup file; if you duplicate (clone) the base station, current Aranet PRO/PRO Plus name, and Network configuration will be overwritten with the imported one!
Base Cloning
Backup files can also be used for base station cloning. In this scenario, a backup file from one base station is uploaded to another base station of the same model. This allows multiple base stations to be configured identically, including sensor configuration logic, thresholds, and communication settings, significantly reducing deployment time and configuration errors.
When using a backup file for restoration or cloning, it is recommended to verify network-specific parameters and ensure that the paired sensors and communication settings are appropriate for the target installation environment.
If you are cloning the data to another base station, make sure that you change the name of the base station, network parameters, and password, as they will remain the same as on the other base station.
Aranet Cloud
When an Aranet Pro/Pro Plus base is registered to the Aranet Cloud, it sends a backup file to the Aranet Cloud once per day when there are any changes in the base configuration or sensors list are made.
Up to 10 latest backup files are visible to the Aranet Cloud user and can be downloaded from the base information card in Aranet Cloud.
