# What Does the Aranet2 Do?

The **Aranet2** is a compact wireless sensor designed to monitor **temperature and relative humidity** in indoor environments. It continuously measures these conditions and transmits the data to the Aranet Home app or a compatible Aranet base station, allowing you to track changes over time and receive alerts when values move outside your preferred range. With long battery life and flexible placement options, the Aranet2 is a well-suited sensor for managing storage conditions or environmental stability in homes, offices, and other indoor spaces.

#### Temperature and Relative Humidity (T/RH)

Temperature and humidity are measured using a **precision digital sensor** that includes a tiny thermistor and a capacitive humidity element. The thermistor changes its electrical resistance with temperature, while the humidity element changes capacitance based on moisture in the air. The sensor converts these physical changes into digital readings, giving accurate T/RH measurements with minimal drift
